What do you study in Humanities?

Rosio Pasculli: I had humanities in High School and I got nine college credits by CLEPing what I learned there. It was art and music history, culture, and a smattering of social development ideas like ecology, feminism, and concepts of human rights. It has served me well even though I had a boring and miserable teacher.

Blair Abdi: In a class titled "Humanities," you'll skim over Art, Music, Languages, History, Culture, Anthropology, Tools, and other aspects important to Human life. ie. If you take Humanities, you'll probably learn generally about "The Mona Lisa." If you take Art History, you'll learn more specific things about "The Mona Lisa. In your Humanities class, you may cover in a general form, Beethoven's 5th Symphony, but in a Music class, you may learn more specifics about it. (compositional techniques, orchestration, as well as historical context)...Show more

Donita Desjardin: Look around you and try to find something that is purely functional and ! has nothing to do with art. Art is important because it is everywhere. We wouldn't want to live in a purely functional world.

Becky Mosena: This is weird

Gerardo Greist: Books and other study materials.
