Can a database provide security?

Serena Doak: Databases do not inherently make systems more or less secure. Security comes from the overall way a system is designed and programmed.

Janeen Perona: Assuming you are coding properly, no body may view your tables in a database unless you specify that. For example: a login / logout script.Usernames and passwords are stored in a database, so nobody can see the passwords, but if you wanted you could show all of the usernames. Not to mention that databases really help with simplicity in scripts!Kevin Caulfieldhttp://www.caulfielddesign.com/...Show more
