Corrina Faro: how good is the stereo? the very cheap ones will skip due to vibrations which might be caused by your subwoofers.i dont see what the gauge wiring had to do with it nor the alternator. they will not cause the stereo to "skip" or the amp to skip a beat.theres a few other you need to check. if the audio "skips" only on the stuff you have on the amplifiers... check if it goes into protect/thermal. if so, you might not have the correct ohm load that amp is stable at or your settings might be too high. also check if the grounding connection that was used for the amp is good and clean (no dirt/oil and no paint on the surface of the chassis).if the audio skips on all speakers including speakers you have hooked up to the headunit by using the + - cables on the back.. then the problem might be the stereo itself. i cant really tell u if it is because u didnt say what stereo you are using and the exact models of all the sound system equipment you have....Show more

Rana Rudell: so you cheaked your ground? i had the same problem.. altenator could be bad.. or battrie? and the amp is new ? i would say wireing problem
