What is "Going Green" exactly?

Moira Woodrow: What is "Going Green" exactly?"Going Green" is a generalized term that many people use with out really understanding it fully. it really means taking action in some level, to reduce the amount of environmental damage caused by human lifestyles. Because it has the potential to apply to so many areas of life, It encompasses many, many things, so it can seem complex. But in a nut shell, It is really just looking at our own interaction with the environment, our dependence -understanding that fully we can then choose to change some habits to help make the damage less. Who and When founded "Going Green?"It was never really founded by someone, but early in 1960 a lot more youth begun to pay more attention to the issues and the movement was born. What sort of benefits besides the obvious (of global friendly consequences) does it have to offer?Personally, it has saved me a lot of money, and stimulated my creativity endlessly, it has brought me closer to the world and! other ways of life and life forms, giving me some amazing experiences, I find so much calm in a pic-nic surrounded by natural beauty. The smell of a flower can be renewing. It has also helped me in terms of a sense belonging, I understand my place in the world a lot better. You learn a lot of self sufficiency, as a result the current economic crisis has not hit me so hard, I’m able to grow a lot of my own food and reuse/ recycle. I can look in the mirror every morning and be proud that my life made a contribution. It meant something even in a small way and that to me is priceless. In Spanish we say drop by drop the jar gets filled. collective impact of people doing some things, improves the environment that much more, making for a better less stressful life for us and generations to come.. And are there any drawbacks to it? Mostly all innovative tactics have drawbacks, does Going Green have any?Yes, there always is a negative to any positive. There is the fact of less c! onvenience, also you may decide to forgo something you enjoy, ! like long car rides, there is a cost involved in some of the more green practices, such as solar panels. I don’t mind reusing jars and plastic containers, some people dislike the idea they prefer their Tupperware. I use mostly second hand clothes, some people would find that unacceptable. But really you decide how far you want to go, how much can you contribute and not affect your balance in life is up to you. If you only turn the lights that are not in use off, it counts. Everything does count and you get to decide and learn. here are some tipsI had a few questions regarding the topic, perhaps directing to me to a few websites to better acquaint me with the concept?http://weather.weatherbug.com/green-living/going-g...http://www.thegreenguide.com/http://www.geocities.com/RainForest/Vines/4990/...Show more

Ulrike Hert: It means different things to different people and is a very general term. I'm not sure how or when the term came to be. Many people think it is a n! ew movement, but it is just the reintroduction of an old philosophy. The benefits are many, save money, improve health, reduce emissions, live a happier less materialistic life, get reacquainted with your food chain, and save the world. The only draw back I see is frustration. There is so much green washing and misinformation it can get discouraging when you are trying to make the right choice only to find out it wasn't any better than what you were doing before....Show more

Stan Conley: It's a creative marketing scheme.

Adelle Weight: Its a observe coined with the aid of fact they had to do away with non secular extremists as a term used to persist with to this group of individuals.
