Derrick Kloke: I have the solution for you. I used to do this program. Go to these links hun.www.flvs.net and apexlearning.comThe only thing I can say is make sure this is something you really want, and also you have to have a lot of self discipline to do online schooling remember that....Show more
Julieta Suleiman: There are a lot of kids being home schooled now. You can sign up on line with a cyber school and as long as you graduate, you can still be a viable candidate for college. Home school kids usually have a good network for activities and field trips with other home schoolers. One thing to consider, though. It often makes kids socially awkward. (I think you might be okay, though b/c you are already 16). I think in PA, the school is called Cyber PA.
Norine Lomonte: Absolutely! anyone can do home/cyber school. I do cyber school. I also live in Pennsylvania and i attend Agora at k12.com. If you join agora your mom can be your mentor teacher. In Agora the! re will be real teachers teaching you and guiding you through the whole year. Your mom can teach you about something you don't understand, and if you both have trouble you can contact your teacher and he/she will set up a Private online session so you and your teacher can talk 1 on 1 and they will teach you what your struggling. I would recomned Agora for a cyber school but there are many other cyber schools. To me it's alot better than public school. you can check out my schools website and have a look around....Show more
Lou Rought: yes, anyone can be home schooled. i was home schooled. i went once a week for about a half an hour and they give you your assignments for the week and you turn in your homework. your mom doesn't "teach" you. you actually just teach yourself and if you have any problems or questions you tell the teacher when you go in the following week. your mom has to agree with you being home schooled though because she has to sign you up. i loved it. ! i only worked 1 day a week for 8 hours and the rest of the wee! k i didn't do any school work and i went to the beach, etc. i made up more credits than anybody ever made at that school in the 3 months that i did it....Show more
Donnell Mollo: For some strange reason people always go against home-schooling. && For all the dumbies that says your mom and dad will have to teach you thats not true. My mom dosnt teach me I have teachers and a principal. I talk to my teachers everyday, the only difference is they are not in front of me. I'm a strait A & B student. I been homeschooled for 2 years now. I like it better than public because you get more time. Plus it will look good on collage aps. Home-schoolers always stands out more somehow. I'm home-school && I am 17, I got a job, I can drive and I'm about to write a book and get it published. People make it seem like being in public will somehow make you cooler. They also make it seem like being homeschooled mean you have no life which isnt true. I have lots of friends and I still go to ! homecoming. Homeschooling isnt really that much different, the only thing is you are at home in stead of at school. If someone have never been homeschooled then they will never know how it really is, people always judge me && say that I wont make it. I heard it from my family and from my teachers and from my own friends. The main ones that are talking all that crap are the main ones that are getting F's and D's out of school and Drinking pot and smoking dope. Yet here I am At 17, I can drive, I got a Job,And Im about to write a book and have it published. People in public will come down on you just because you are not doing what they are doing and they will say all this crazy crap. But Imma warn you, please dont let that make you not do what you wanna do. Believe me they will try and tell you that just because you are homeschooled that you wont ever susceed or that you will never have a social life, but that isnt true...Sooo if you really wanna get homeschooled then go for i! t! But dont let the talk of people get to you or make you stop doing wh! at you do! I Hoped i helped!...Show more
Beau Starcevic: there is help in your area and on the internet for home schooling. do a search . you will be better educated than those attending public schools and you won't get all the liberal brainwashing they force on you in public schools.
Clemente Schoeck: ya go get homeschooled so u can serve me big macs at mcdonalds when im making millions from going to a public highschool.
Hans Sachetti: hey my mom didnt even go to college!! she id a different thing that is like college.im 13. i prefer to be at home and im just not into the school drama and everything. your mom can homeschool you no matter what she did or didnt graduate. but at the end of the year you have to go see a lady/man and you bring samples of stuff you learned and they go over it, ask you questions then they give you a slip if you passed (which you most likely will) and you bring it to your school board and they put it in that you passed grade___,! as for curriculum we are using books that my mom bought online, we got from schools etc. you just have to make sure your history books are up to date. and since you are in high school, you need to go online or where ever and see what classes you need, how many math classes etc since ther are so many required.. since im still in middle school i only need 5-6 classes history, geography, math, L.A,, science, and i do bible study,(did i miss any) but anyways i am doing science, geography and L.A this semester and math history and one other class next semester..you can be homeschooled for whatever reason. my mom homeschooled me because the middle schools where i live are really bad, alot of drugs, sex and everything and she didnt want me going to a place like that, my mom isnt even home with me during the day. she assigns me school work for the month on this little planner and then i do the school and in the afternoon she goes over it with me. you can also find homeschool grou! ps, you can do 4-h (if you like farms and animals) or anything else you! r interssted in to interact with other kids..hope i help.(:...Show more
Kimberlee Bowdish: There are no laws against it (unless your state is different than mine). But it is ultimately up to your mom if she is willing and feels she is able to home school you, unless you think you have the discipline to home school yourself (which is highly uncommon).Home schooling usually offers an excellent, sometimes superior, education. However, there are a few drawbacks you must consider. How well do you get along with your mom? You will have to be home with her most of the day every day. How social are you, and how much do you value having friends your own age? You most likely won't have many friends unless youâre very outgoing or join some sort of home school group. How self-motivated and responsible are you? You will have less pressure to do well and more time on your hands to get in trouble. Are you planning to go to college? You definitely can go to college after ! being home schooled, but you'll have to make sure you take all the necessary courses....Show more
Caterina Yeargan: Did you know that the Pennsylvania Virtual Charter School was named the Parentâs Choice winner as best high school in Pennsylvania by Business Week magazine and GreatSchools.net?You could be going to a school that is ranked higher than the regular one you are attending now! That IS a real reason to do school at home. As for the socialization stuff. A statistical study that came out last spring found that kids who go to online virtual charter schools are BETTER socialized overall than their conventional-classroom peers! http://go.k12.com/static/pdf/IESD-Socialization-St...Follow your dream.
