Randolph Lozoya: Really no. All you can do is buffer live TV or view recordings made while it was in service, or use the parts. Hence it is sometimes called a doorstop. Even officially in TiVo, they call it "Boat Anchor Mode"Any hack of the TiVo software would be theft if the TiVo service/software license (the subscription is a license to use most of the features the TiVo software, including basic recording and networking).The Y!A guidelines basically respect TiVos business model to lease their software for subscription, and ask Y!A users also do so.You could run totally different software, but to date, nobo! dy has bothered to write or release an alternative application software for the TiVo....Show more
