Ideas for Non-traditional Weddings?

Gregory Dilg: If you are inviting any of them, I am sure they would find it cool. As long as you do not make it into a joke.

Jammie Taddei: It's hard to describe just one because there are such diverse cultures out there and they have different traditions that are followed even within the same culture. Whichever you choose to do, you should remember that the most Divine love out there is that of God. He loves us so much that he gave us his only son and let him die in a cross so that we could have forgiveness and eternal life. Dont be blinded by glamourous destinations or by trying to avoid what some people depect as tacky traditions. Remember what's important. If you decide to have a destination wedding with a unique ceremony to unite you and are unsure of the legality of it, then just go to the justice of the peace and get married legally first. Then you will know you are married legally....Show more

Debora Rinderer: If we get married in a different cere! mony is it still legal?

Emeline Albracht: The first year of marriage is often considered the year of adjustment. The proper color for 1st anniversary would be Gold or Yellow, send her some the fixed Flower like Orange Blossom or Pansy; or just give out some gemstones like gold and pearls.for pretty pearl gifts, http://www.pearlhours.com/gift-showcase.php

Claude Gloden: * the choice is very wide as each culture has it,s own way of celebratingyou have asianative americanspanishall sorts of ideas.

Pamela Meno: I am a huge fan of Indian Weddings and their traditions. It would be amazing to have an Indian style wedding, but I don't want to offend anyone especially Indians. Please tell me what you think. Thank you.

Alvaro Oare: The first question is: Do you have a place in mind? You can look at the cultural heritage of one of you and do a destination to there, or you can do a traditional ceremony for where you are planning the destination... If you don't ! want to send everyone over seas, how about doing something in ! the country you are in, but more to the traditions of that area? The Unitarian Universalists will have a lot of options for you and are more about the spiritual connection, than one religion.Good luck!As for whether they are legal - most are. If your marriage is recognized where you have the ceremony then usually the US recognizes it as well....Show more

Kris Otuafi: I am a non-denominational minister, therefore I am not bound by any creed or dogma of a particular church. I perform "spiritual" ceremonies should a couple want their marriage blessed by God. I call it God lite. :) And I also perform civil ceremonies as well. I am currently working on a ceremony where the bride wants "romantic-God lite" To find an officiant type into your search engine Grand Rapids Michigan wedding officiant (no 's' on the end). You should have your choice. Also you can contact AAWO; they have ALL kinds of officiants registered with them from pagan priestesses to rabbis & notaries....Show! more

Ewa Homrich: There are a few legal words needed to make the marriage legal, and a legal person who is licensed to perform it.Otherwise you can have any kind of wedding you want to ...in any style. Just keep a couple of things in mind....Do you want your wedding guests to be comfortable and able to come?Do you want pictures to keep for all the years ahead? Will you be happy looking at what you planned, years later? You can combine any traditions that appeal to you in your service...it will be however you want it....Show more

Alexander Villas: How about somewhere is Asia. Their culture should be sufficiently different from ours! We are getting married in St Thomas and I can't believe how easy it all is! After only 3 emails and a few phone calls, I'm pretty much set! My fiance booked our reception for when we return home, including the menu! This is the easiest thing ever!

George Dingeldein: Fiji! It's gorgeous & legal. Easy & you can do a traditional ! island wedding with the tapa cloth dress & allhttp://www.pacific-travel! -guides.com/fiji-islands/...http://www.fijianweddings.com/weddings/fiji-weddin...

Burt Cheevers: You know ideas for your wife's anniversary isn't something you should be asking on yahoo answers. If you really love her think of something yourself that you know she'll love. You know her better than any stranger on the internet.

Virgil Menefee: Well I think that it is poor organisation to only give you a few weeks to prepare for a wedding, let alone all the parties in between. The only things that I can come up with that don't cost much money is - * girls night in, full of pampering, girly movies and wine.* Beach party* Asking for family to help out* Sex Toy party - consultant brings all the props, you just need the girls and wine* Dinner out

Alisia Sutphen: I want to get her something nice yet not overly extravagant. Any gift ideas? We're going to Morro bay for the weekend to celebrate =)

Riley Migl: Mexico is always a good bet, close to home, and ! cheap for the most part in hotel rooms, etc. I know for myself, I hope to get married in someplace like St. Francisville, LA at an old plantation, or Charleston, SC on the beach or in a historic home on rainbow row. First though, have to find the guy lol. Good luck and congratulations!!

Rosalba Lingner: You will have to ask in poetry and writing i believe they're going to be a ton extra useful And present a few again circular on them so they have got specifications to make it humorous Thinking anything alongside the strains of dick and jane satire in a gentle fluffy supply might be humorous

Gwenda Micheals: Would you be offended by an Indian having a western style wedding? So long as you don't bring religion into it (and even then Hindus are actually pretty relaxed) or be amazingly disrespectful (like pissing on a statue of Rama or something) I don't see a problem.

Kara Tabian: Hawaiian Wedding Traditions:The bride wears a long, white formal version of t! he muumuu called a 'holoku.' Instead of a veil, a woven garland of isla! nd flowers, 'haku lei', is worn around her head. The bride's bouquet may consist of white orchid sprays. The groom wears a long sleeve white shirt and white pants. A long red, or colored sash, is worn wrapped about his waist. A lei of maile and ilima flowers adorn his neck.Hawaiian wedding bands bearing the couple's name in Hawaiian are often exchanged. The name 'kuuipo', meaning sweetheart, is a favorite choice for the brideCeltic Weddingshttp://www.celtarts.com/WEDDING/traditions.htm...Show more

Floyd Labuda: yes, it is leagal. I think you should have an indian wedding. They are beautiful and it lasts for 4 days. The outfit are out of this world. you can rent an indian mandir, only vegetarian dishes and do the indian part of the wedding and tents for the reception. You can also have a henna night, which is fun. look into it. and don't forget to invite me.

Thomas Riner: So I recently found out I was the maid of honor of my close friends wedding. The weddi! ng is in three weeks and I have no idea what to do or money to do it with. (Im a full time, unemployed college student. I HAVE LITTLE TO NO MONEY)....Does anyone have any suggestions, ideas, or donations they can offer to me. I really would like to do something nice for my friend, she deserves to have a great celebration.

Coleman Petropoulos: Maybe just decorate with an Indian theme instead.

Hilma Pestano: Indian weddings are fantastic. I would go there. Yes, the marriage would still be legal because you would sign a U.S. marriage license. That is want makes it legal. Not the ceremony itself. Congrats!

Gaylord Barragan: SOMETHING GOLD AND SOMETHING YELLOW
